IV. National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) Facility

Now Barclaycard customers can make their Credit Card payments through the NEFT facility provided by the respective Banks which offer the NEFT Functionality.

How it works 
 

  • Login to the net banking facility of your bank and go to their online funds transfer module.
  • Add your Barclaycard as a beneficiary to receive the funds transferred.
  • Initiate an online fund transfer with Barclaycard as the beneficiary.


How to add your Barclaycard as a beneficiary:

Once you login to the net banking facility of your non-Barclaycard Bank, you can execute the following steps to register your Barclaycard as a beneficiary:

  • Go to the 'add beneficiary' page in the net banking module
  • Select Barclays Bank PLC from the list of Banks
  • Select Mumbai branch and ensure that the IFSC code is BARCØINBBIR
  • Select 'Savings Account' in the field called 'Account Type'
  • Provide the 16 digit Barclaycard number in the field called 'Account Number'


The payment will be credited to your card account within 2 working days from the date of transer.

Please note the following 

  • The IFSC code (BARCØINBBIR) is the same for all the Barclays Bank retail banking branches.
  • Choosing a wrong IFSC code will result in delay or cancellation of your fund transfer.
  • You need to make your Barclaycard Payment at least 2 working days before the Payment Due Date.
  • Terms and conditions of internet banking facility of your bank will apply. The above payment is subject to acceptance of Barclaycard as a payee on the internet banking module of your bank.
  • NEFT facility is subject to rules and guidelines of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as applicable from time to time. Barclaycard reserves the right not to accept a request for NEFT without assigning any reason therefore.

1. How do I know if my Bank is registered for the NEFT Service?

Almost all banks are registered for providing their customers with the NEFT facility. However you will need to get a confirmation from your bank.

 

2. Do I need to enable the third party transfers link with my bank accounts, to use the NEFT facility?

In the case of some banks such as HDFC bank, you will need to enable the third party transfers tab, by filling up a registration form at your bank branch. Only after completing this activity will you be able to use the NEFT functionality. Other banks such as Citibank will need you to register your Barclaycard as a Payee for NEFT using their Online Authorisation Code (OAC) functionality.

In some banks you can transfer funds directly without any prior registration. You need to get in touch with your bank for details.

 

3. How fast will the funds reflect in my Credit Card Account?

Once the transaction has been successfully completed, your Bank will debit the funds from your Bank account and hand the same to Barclaycard. On receipt of the funds, the same will be credited to your account within 2 working days.

 

4. What happens to the funds if the Credit Card Number specified is invalid?

In the event of an invalid card number being submitted by the customer, the funds will be returned to the originating bank.

 

5. Is there any charge for making the Credit Card payment using the NEFT facility?

Barclaycard does not levy any charges for payments received through NEFT. Most banks also offer funds transfer through the NEFT functionality free of cost. However, you are requested to get in touch with your bank for details.

 

6. Will I have a Unique Reference Number for the transaction?

Yes, on successfully completing the NEFT Transaction you will be given an RBI reference number for the transaction. If you have not noted the same at the time of the transactions, you can call your bank and the same will be provided to you. You need to quote this unique RBI Transaction reference number at the time of logging in your complaint.

 

7. Whom do I contact if my NEFT Payment does not get updated against my card account within 2 working days?

If your NEFT Payment does not reflect within 2 working days you can log a complaint by calling the Barclaycard Customer Service Helpline.
