Now, you don’t need to remember utility bill due dates anymore. Through this service you will be able to register for auto debits of your utility bills on your Barclaycard.

1. What are the fields required at the time of registration?

The fields required for registration for all Mobile and Landline Utilities are as follows.

  • Mobile Number OR Landline Number
  • Utility Account Number (which can be got from the physical bill copy)
  • Name of the Customer
  • Barclaycard Number of the Customer

 

2. What is the account number required at the time of Registration. Where does the customer find it?

The account number of the Utility can be found on the hard copy of the Bill. Its length and format varies between utilities and every Landline / Mobile number has an unique Utility Account Number tagged to it.

 

3. When can my registration be rejected?

Once your details are captured, the details are forwarded to Bill Desk for registration. The registration can be rejected in the following scenarios.

  • Mobile and Landline Number is Invalid
  • Utility Account Number is Invalid
  • Utility Account Number, Mobile Number and Customer Name cannot be located in a single record in the Biller Database

 

4. How much time does it take to get registered?

It takes a customer 4 days to get registered. Once the customer is successfully registered, he will receive a confirmatory E-Mail and SMS for the same. A physical letter will also be sent to the customer with the registration details and the Terms and Conditions applicable for Utility Standing Instructions.

 

5. Do I receive a confirmation, once the Registration is completed?

Yes, once the registration is confirmed a confirmatory E-mail and SMS is sent to you from Bill Desk. A physical letter confirmation is also sent across from Barclaycard.

 

6. Is there a confirmation which is communicated, when the Registration is rejected?

Yes, once the registration is rejected a confirmatory E-mail and SMS is sent to you from Bill Desk. No physical letter is sent from Barclaycard.

 

7. Can I register multiple utilities on a single Barclaycard?

Yes, you can register multiple Utilities on the same Barclaycard. You can even register Utilities belonging to your family members and friends on the Barclaycard. However, the Primary Barclaycard customer has to authorise the registration of the Standing Instructions.

 

8. What is the maximum number of utilities that can be registered on a single Barclaycard?

There is no system check on the number of Utilities that can be registered. However it is not advisable to register more than 5 Standing Instructions on one Barclaycard, else there is a fear of going over limit as all Standing Instruction auto debits result in blocking of the credit limit.

 

9. When is the Service start date – When will the first debit happen on my Barclaycard?

For all registrations coming in before the 20th of the month, the Instructions will be active for all bills generated from the first of the next month. For all registrations coming in after the 20th of the month, the instructions will be active for all bills generated from the 1st of the month following the following month.

For SI Registration on 25th Oct – It will be effective for bills generated 1st Dec
For SI Registration on 17th Oct – It will be effective for bills generated 1st Nov

 

10. Is there a communication to me when a bill is generated?

Yes. A confirmatory E-mail and SMS will be sent to you once a bill is generated by the biller. All communication is sent to you on the E-Mail ID and Mobile Number registered in the system.

 

11. When will the transaction be debited to my Barclaycard? How many days before the due date?

The transaction will be debited to your Barclaycard, 4 days before the due date. This process will be executed by Bill Desk on the Citibank payment gateway.

 

12. Will I get a confirmation of every successful debit on the Barclaycard?

Yes. A confirmatory E-mail and SMS will be sent to you as soon as the debit is executed. All communication is sent to you on the E-Mail ID and Mobile Number registered in the system.

 

13. In the event of a double payment in any particular month. What is the process for reversal of the transaction?

In the event of a double payment the process of resolution is as follows.

  • The customer has a choice of receiving the Credit in the next bill generated by the Utility. Hence all double payments are adjusted against subsequent bills, thus resulting in no financial loss to the customer.
  • If the customer is keen on an immediate reversal – the request is raised with customer service by providing the Barclaycard Number, Utility Name and SI Amount.
  • The reversal is processed by the Transaction processing Team and the Credit reflects in the customer account within 4 working days.

 

14. Will I earn Barclaycard Points for SI Transactions?

Yes – you will earn Barclaycard Points as per the regular ratios. There may also be special promotional offers which are run for specific periods of time.

 

15. Can the Utility Standing Instruction Transaction be declined?

Yes when the debit file is uploaded the Utility Standing Instruction can be declined due to the following reasons.

  • No Credit Limit available on the Barclaycard
  • Invalid Barclaycard Number provided by the customer or the Barclaycard may be closed or reissued

In either case an SMS will be sent to the customer informing him that the transaction has been rejected. In case of Invalid Numbers – the Barclaycard will be closed or reissued in which case the operations team will either deregister the SI in the system or update with the new Barclaycard number.

 

16. How do I deregister from the Utility Standing Instruction Service?

To initiate a deregistration from the Utility Standing Instruction, you need to call the customer service helpline and place a deregistration request. The Standing Instruction will be deregistered within 48 hours.

In some case – if you are non contactable for 1 week after generation of the first bill report, you are deregistered automatically from the Standing Instruction Functionality.
